THE SITEMAP OF SITE "Z"
The sitemap is a file that contains all the URLs of a site, listed according to a hierarchy set during creation. Initially, the purpose of the sitemap was to facilitate user navigation, like a real sitemap, but its usefulness also extends to crawling and indexing by search engine crawlers.
What is the SiteMap for
In general, web crawlers can find most of the content if the pages of a site are linked correctly: using a map is a safe way to allow search engines to understand more quickly and precisely the entire structure of the site.
Map usefulness in Google
The map file in fact allows webmasters to submit the pages of the sites available for crawling and provide information to crawlers on the pages themselves and on the resources present on the site, highlighting the hierarchies and correlations between the various elements as mentioned; in addition, it also contains precise details on the pages such as the date of the last update, the frequency of modification and any versions in other languages of the pages.

In fact, if the more experienced can manually create the file, on the Net there are many resources that allow you to generate sitemaps automatically: on Google there is even a page that lists the Web Sitemap generators, divided into "server-side programs", "CMS and other plugins ”,“ Downloadable Tools ”,“ Online Generators / Services ”,“ CMS with integrated Sitemap generators ”. In addition, the tools to generate sitemaps for Google News and "Code Snippets / Libraries" are also reported.
Whatever the choice, it is essential to immediately make the Sitemap created available to Google, by adding it to the robots.txt file or by sending it directly to the Search Console.

Ultimately, therefore, using a sitemap is a method to facilitate the life of crawlers and to provide a map of the contents of your site to Googlebot. While not guaranteeing that the elements indicated are then actually crawled and indexed, it is advisable to always use a sitemap because "in most cases the existence of a sitemap is still an advantage for your site and you will never be penalized for the fact to have one, ”as Google says.

Finally, the types of links used for the development of the site - to simplify navigation - are generally only two:
blog category type, as in NEWS FROM THE WORLD, through which you can directly access the articles of the related category;
single category list type, as in NEWS FROM THE PAST, whose articles can be accessed by clicking first on the list of article titles, and then on the link of the specific article that interests us.
